Language Arts/ Reading : Students should read or be read to every night for 15 minutes. Review alphabets letters and sounds, identify words by their initial consonant sounds, create rhymning words by substituting initial consonant sound, and identify and tell what sounds are at the beginning, middle, and ending of words.
Writing : Practice formation of letters every day, as well as numerals 0 - 30. Write your full name (first and last). Write words that you know and put them into complete sentences.
Math Games: (to be done orally or written) Each day play a math game with your child called, "Before, After and Between". Using numerals from 0 to 30, ask your child to give you a number that comes before, after, or between another number. Your child can orally tell you or write down the answer. Now change places and let your child ask you to provide the number that comes before, after or between.
Sorting & Graphing: Have your child sort various items from home into two or more groups. Use the following attributes of , color, shape, or size. Create a graph by asking various questions and have the child to ask the family members the questions. Show the answer in graph and/ or tally mark form. Discuss the graph, which has more/ less/ or the same .
Social Studies: Discuss who are our Community Helpers, what do they do for our community, and what tools do they use?
Science: We're learning about the Earth & Sky. During the next 3/4 weeks Kindergarten students will explore the sky in the day time and at night, and distinguish between land and water on a globe and map.
